Monitoring Starter Kits MATACHANA

Microsites for a new start of Monitoring line

Microsites Monitoring Starter Kits Matachana

OVERVIEW

About the project

One of the first projects I carried out for MATACHANA was the full design of the Starter Kits for their new monitoring line. Thanks to this project I was able to familiarize myself with a large part of the brand’s products, empathize with the needs and problems encountered by users and put my knowledge of HTML5 and CSS3 into practice.

As a designer, I designed the packagings of the kits and their instructions, illustrated the icons for 17 monitoring products, created wireframes, high-fidelity UI and coded the final microsites with all the contents. I also conceptualized, shooted and edited the video spot of the starter kits for their promotion in Brand social media channels.

Designing the packaging

Each kit was intended for a sterilization technology: Steam, Formaldehyde, Peroxide & Plasma and Washing.

Kits needed to have a clean design with no gradients or effects as these would also be printable designs and would not look good outside of digital format. I opted for a Flat design with strong colors that would help differentiate the products of each technology and accompanied by an icon that could be reused for future marketing applications.

One of the insights that I had from the product manager and that I took into account when designing the packaging and the microsites to download the instructions for each of the products included in each kit, was that in the sterilization centers and warehouses they did not distinguish well which package corresponded to each technology and many times they got confused. That’s why I decided to put the color of each line on the sides along with the references of each product. Thus, if the user has the boxes stacked on a shelf, it is easy to distinguish each package to which technology it corresponds.

For the design of the QR codes that are inside each kit, I decided to draw a representative MATACHANA machine/sterilizer of each technology and place the QR inside what would be the chamber where the sterilization takes place.

Designing the icons

There were a large number of products and their design varied depending on the supplier that manufactured it. That is why I decided to design some neutral icons that would symbolize each of the products and be able to use them in the documentation and other marketing content of the brand without the need to constantly update them.

Product Manager needs

The products inside each Kit are for technical use to measure the effectiveness of sterilization in loads made in hospitals and laboratories. The product manager of this product line found it necessary to share the instructions and certifications of each of them. The constant change of suppliers and standards forced him to periodically update the documentation. This was the main reason to create these sites in order to be able to update the documentation in digital format and avoid to have a large amount of outdated papers inside, which would mean a great expense of paper and a great legal danger for the company.
